It is hard driving through the snow.You have to be extra careful.The road becomes too slippery, and it may cause a car accident.There are also other problems that you may encounter on the road such as a dead battery, flat tire and run out of gasoline.
Here are some things that you have to remember when your vehicle get stuck in the snow.
DO NOT PANIC
It is a natural reaction to panic in situations like this, but you need to compose yourself and keep calm.Itwill be easier for you to resolve the issue if you are calm, and your mind is clear.
DO NOT SPIN YOUR TIRES
Spinning your tires will only dig your car deeper into the snow, and it may also cause damage. Instead, you can try steering your car from side to side.It will help clear out snow that got stuck around your tires.
PUT THE CAR IN LOW GEAR
Try putting your car in the lowest gear.Back it up slowly then move it forward.Rocking your car will also help clear out the snow from around your tires.
CLEAR OUT THE SNOW MANUALLY
If rocking or moving your car from side to side still does not work, get out of your vehicle and dig out the snow around your tires.Make sure that the safety brake is on while you are doing this.
SAND OR KITTY LITTER
It is strongly advised for you to carry a kitty litter or a bag of sand during the snow season.You can pour it around your tires.It will help you get a better traction.
If all else fail, try to seek help.You can ask for assistance from people living nearby or if there is none, call for emergency help.Stay inside your car and keep warm while waiting for the towing company or rescuers to get to you.
