U.S. Figure Skating Basic 1 – Basic 8 / Hockey 1 - Hockey 4
This program is designed to teach sound skating basics for skaters’ ages 6 and up.
Skaters earn badges upon passing each level. Equipment required: proper fitting single blade skates, helmets – required for skaters ages 7 and under, gloves/mittens.
For skaters Basic 2 and above interested in hockey we offer the Norwich Hockey Academy Learn to Play Hockey Program. Information for this program is available at the Norwich Ice Rink

Private Lessons
Private lessons can be arranged to meet your personal schedule. Private lessons are suggested for skaters who are
behind in their classes or for students wishing to pursue more advanced skating techniques. Private lessons are available during public
skating sessions or on Norwich Ice Rink Freestyle sessions. If you need help finding a coach, please contact Yulia Borissova, Assistant Skating Director – Norwich Ice Rink.
Learn to Skate Information & Policies

In order to participate in Norwich Ice Rink and Skating School programs, all new skaters must be able
to stand on the ice on their own.

Double Runner Skates are not allowed.

Programs may be cancelled, combined or altered due to insufficient enrollment.

All classes are 40 minutes long with an additional 10 minutes practice time. Skaters are expected to arrive at least 15
minutes prior to the start of class. Late arrivals are a disruption for the rest of their class. Class switching is not allowed under any circumstances.

Rink cancellations or closures will be aired on the following radio stations: WICH, WCTY, and WQGN.

The
Norwich Ice Rink reserves the right to refuse registration or refund money of anyone that does not meet minimum class
requirements.
